Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has recently issued a notice of the CGL Examination. The Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) which used to be a three tier exam has been revised and decided to be a four tier examination. Decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation. Direction sense test, Blood relations, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification. The syllabus includes Fill in the Blanks, Idioms & Phrases, Jumbled sentences (ordering), One word substitution. Synonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Common errors, sentence improvement, Passage, Cloze test are asked.

There are four papers in 2nd Tier. These are:

- 4: Finance & Accounts (Only for Assistant Audit Officer (AAO) in C&AG posts)

The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The syllabus of this one will have questions based on computation of whole numbers, decimals ,fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres,

Comprehension passages, Cloze passage, idioms & phrases, 1 word substitution. Sentence improvement, active & passive voices, Direct indirect Narration conversion.

__SSC CGL 2017 Tier-I Examination Date and Paper Pattern__

- On the other hand, organization has also released the date of the Tier-I Exam
- Exam will be Computer Based Exam.
- SSC CGL Tier-II 2017 exam is going to be held on November 2016
- Exam will be an objective type paper.
- There is a change in the exam in terms of the number of questions.
- Examination will consist of 100 questions unlike 200 questions as given in the previous notice.
- Of the 100 questions asked, each question carries two marks making the total marks of the paper to be 200.
- Contenders will get a total of 60 minutes to attempt the tier-I paper
- Negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer.
- At last, to be selected after the whole selection process, the candidates has to qualify in each of the four stages.
